Visit a local playground environment in which young children frequently interact
and play. Evaluate the playground by completing the “America’s Playgrounds-
Safety Report Card 2.”
Based on the report card checklist, create a 2-page report that includes the
following:
• Name and address of the park visited. What age is the park designed for?
• The hazards and risks you noted at the park.
• A discussion on ways you could advocate for repairs and elimination of the
hazards to improve the safety of children using the playground.
• Consider what you, as a professional, would do to keep children using the
playground safe.
• Who are the appropriate people to contact to make noted repairs?
Make sure your report follows APA formatting rules for a Title page, Running
