1. Watch the film “I Am The Blues” Instructions to find the film: Click Library Resources in left column 2. Create a digital timeline using this timeline creator: https://timeline.knightlab.com/ 3. Email me the link to your timeline by March 7 (*note: if you are having any issues with the timeline creator please let me know)   Instructions: Research ten musicians featured in the film (there are more than ten featured). 2 slides per musician, ten musicians, twenty slides total.  In the first slide for each musician cite something the musician said (i.e. transcribe it) and interpret it. A sample first slide might look like this: “I’m here all my life. What I got here nobody gave me… I mean nobody… when I do my blues it come from my heart… I go home every night of my life, I don’t want nobody to bother me, when I go home I get in my bed and I drink my whiskey, I sit down and I say lord, will you give me one more chance to get up in the morning.” – R.L. Boyce Boyce explains that his skills as a blues musician are directly tied to lifelong, autodidactic (i.e. ability to self-teach) immersion. He implies that the Blues sustains him, that it offers private refuge. He feels fortunate, hopeful even, that he will continue to play as long as he is physically able. The first slide includes the quote and your analysis of the quote. In the second slide for each musician, link to an audio/video example of the musicians’ work – or the song by another artist – and provide discographical information of the name of the track, recording date, and any other pertinent information you can find (other musicians, recording location, date, etc). Describe what you hear in a short paragraph (min. 100 words), using as much specific musical terminology as possible. Any questions/concerns please let me know
