Hypothesis: College students, including millennials and generation z, have standards
of professionalism that are less traditional and more inclusive of varying physical
attributes whereas boomers and generation x tend to have more conservative views of
what is considered professional.

? 25 people per generational group for a total of about 50

Use real people + take pictures of them normal vs with makeup/jewelry/hairstyle
Pictures to reflect real life workplace demographics (control for race + gender quotas) ? in our
methods mention that we tried to control for this but was not realistic so we evened out our
sample (we are trying to get at least two people both male and female for each race)
? WHITE: (1 male and 1 female) , Each person have 3 different pictures
? BLACK: (1 male and 1 female) , Each person have 3 different pictures
? ASIAN: (1 male and 1 female) , Each person have 3 different pictures
? LATINX: (1 male and 1 female) , Each person have 3 different pictures

Survey:
? Randomize order of picture appearance, make sure first picture is different for each
participant, record who gets which pic first
? Make as quick of a judgement as possible (about 5 sec)
? Use Semantic Differential Scale (Likert Scale): have participants evaluate their
perception of professionalism on a scale from Not Professional to Professional (5 point
scale)
