Discuss about Standards of Health Care .
Gabriel; Standards of health care system in the U.S are relatively doing well especially on the quality of care for womens services as per the joint survey of Canada and U.S. (Woolhandler, et al, 2003). For instance 17%-21% of Canadian women and 8%-11% American women didnt acquire the necessary cervical cancer screenings thus from the percentages the quality of healthcare can be improved if the required guidelines are adhered to. Its also evident that the standards of the U.S. health care do not meet the desired levels. As per the survey of (Lasser 2006) on accessibility of health care, he found out that about 33% of U.S. residents are not likely to have access to a medical doctor regularly and others dont access the medicine they need.
I agree that standards of the U.S health care delivery are considered one of the best in the whole world; this has been achieved through the governments allocation of more funds to the health care as compared to its general national income. (Davis, et al, 2006) due to this allocation and the laid down procedures residents are able to access good health care.
On the other hand the standards of the U.S. health care do not do well because most employers tend to choose cheaper insurance hence not considering the quality. A report on low-quality health care costs in the U.S. by (Jaspen, et al, 11 June 2002) indicates that employers do not always countercheck before choosing doctors, plans of health and hospitals they would offer their workers. Lack of agreement on what information share between the government, hospitals, doctors, employers and the general public has led to poor health care delivery.
In conclusion the U.S health care can perform as per the required patients expectations if financial barriers are removed so as to improve the delivery of the health care .
