South Alabama Module 2 Alignment Frameworks and Rationales Discussion To prepare:

Review all of the Learning Resources, and focus on content that explores contexts and frameworks. Specific parts of the readings have been emphasized to help you with this discussion.
Consider the local, national, and global contexts of your research as part of the interpersonal and societal contexts discussed in the text. What about your study is important within those contexts? How do those contexts inform or constrain your study plans? How does MMR help you?
Consider your biases, and how MMR might help you address those.
Consider how your data sources will inform one another as you conduct your study (integration).
Complete a draft of your conceptual framework as it exists at this moment, and create a concept map to accompany it.
BY DAY 4 OF WEEK 4

Post a video recording, no longer than 5 minutes long, in which you explain your concept map graphic and discuss your conceptual framework. Note that you should provide copies of all documents that you will reference in your video as attachments in the Discussion area. This allows students to download and view the documents as they review your video. Be sure to address the following questions:

What is my framework, and how does it inform my study?
What are the important contexts I considered?
What are important definitions?
BY DAY 5 OF WEEK 4

Construct a 2- to 3-paragraph post in which you justify your choice of mixed methods as the best fit for your research question(s). Explain how and why you are integrating quantitative and qualitative elements. Include the information and insight gained from your video presentation assigned earlier in the week.
