It should indicate the: 1. problem to be investigated 2. purpose of the study 3. methods (for our research paper, that can be a literature review) 4. major results 3) Introduction The introduction should provide the reader with all the background information needed to understand the paper. The author should explain key terms, give historical information on the problem studies. (The “why did you do the study”; setting the scene or laying the foundation or background for the paper) 4) Body This section contains the “core” of the paper. Ideally, it should be broken down into further sections such as methods and materials, results, discussion, and conclusion. The author should use his or her discretion in dividing the body in the most natural way. • Context and setting of the study (US, global…etc) • Population (patients, etc. if applicable) • Data collection instruments and procedures • Key findings with respect to the central research question • Secondary findings (secondary outcomes, subgroup analyses, etc.) • Intervention(s) that you found while researching your topic that have been already implemented to tackle the problem/ issue (if applicable) 5) Discussion (Place for interpreting the results) Main findings of the study and to discuss the main results with reference to previous research 6) Conclusion To conclude what you found and how sharing the information with authorities and policy makers (and different stakeholders) can have good implications. 7) References The references page should acknowledge all the resources used for obtaining information. The resource should be cited according to either APA or MLA guidelines. If the source has a clear bias or agenda it must be stated in the Bibliography. Sources must be directly pertinent to the topic. Do not include background reading as a source. Never include Wikipedia, newspapers, non-governmental website, or like sources. All sources MUST be cited in the paper. Citations and Bibliography can be in any format as long as it is consistent through the paper. All statements of facts must have a source citation.
