Hendrix College Japanese Culture and Spirituality Presentation Cultural and Spirituality Case Study Project
Purpose:
The assignment is designed to encourage person-centered care using the principles of culturally and clinically competence and responsibility. The student will also develop skill in communicating in a scholarly and professional manner. (CLO 4, 5)
Process:
1. The student will pick a culture different from their own.
2. Students will complete an individual power point presentation and narrate it utilizing Panopto. Panopto directions will be posted in Canvas.
3. The presentation will focus on at least 5 of the below topics and explain how knowledge of these cultural differences could impact nursing care utilizing specific examples.

oBirth practices
oEnd of life practices
oExpression and management of pain
oWillingness to share information
oCommunication

Stigma that may be associated with the culture or spiritual beliefs of the patient
