Introduction
Over the years, drug abuse among teenagers has drastically increased. Canada, for
instance, has recorded thousands of teenagers who have been involved in the abuse of a
particular drug. It is very easy for one to come across a drug addict among a group of teenagers,
with this probability increasing every year. Various issues have been associated with this
increasing number of drug abuse among teenagers, with peer pressure being the leading cause.
Causes of drug abuse
Many teenagers spend most of the time with their peers, be it in school, social places, or even in
their neighborhoods. As such, most of them have fallen victims of;
? Peer pressure, where they are influenced by others to abuse various drugs.

significant social problems in the country.

Ontario: The Past, Present, and Future.
In this article, Adlaf and Smart address the trends in which cases of drug abuse among
teenagers have been on the rise. Here, the authors argue that in as much as the patterns
were declining in the past, a growth in these curves has been seen in the recent past. This
rise has been attributed to the increase in exposure of such teenagers, mainly to different
social media contents, unlike in the past. This article is crucial to my essay as it supports
my claims of the increased number of drug abuse cases among teenagers. As such, it
provides a theoretical framework by highlighting the increased number of drug abuse
cases among teenagers.

abused a drug of any form. This was a worrying trend as it painted a picture of how
worse the situation is among the teenagers. This journal is crucial as it will be used in
addressing and portraying the exact situation among teenagers by providing a theoretical
framework on how these teenagers engage in drug abuse.

With the increase in the number of teenagers being able to access the internet, cases of
drug abuse have been on the rise. Canada has been ranked as one of the best countries
with better access to different social media platforms. However, this prowess has come
with its fair share of misfortunes, with drug abuse among the teenagers being among
them. As such, this article supports my argument of the increased number of drug abuse

among Canadian young people: Identifying disparities.
The article addresses the issues that came about with the legalization of various drugs for
recreational purposes. Ever since the amendments made on the recreational use of several
drugs, access to them has been easier. Many teenagers are now being flooded with quite a
number of illicit drugs. Recreational use of drugs was supposed to be on a regulated
basis, but this is not the case. As such, many teenagers have been left vulnerable, thus
attributing to the increased number of drug abuse among them. This article is essential
and relevant to this essay as it facilitates a better understanding of the rising number of
drug abuse cases among Canadian teenagers. As such, it provides a theoretical framework
on why and how these teenagers engage themselves in drug abuse.
Perry, S. E., Hockenberry, M. J., Keenan-Lindsay, L., Lowdermilk, D. L., Sams, C. A., &
Wilson, D. (2016). Maternal child nursing care in Canada.
In this book, the authors address the issues to do with substance abuse among Canadian
teenagers. In a survey conducted, it was established that over 85% of Canadian teenagers
had consumed alcohol, and more than 50% of them have abused illegal drugs. With such
high numbers being recorded, most of these teenagers have become addicted to these
drugs, leading to various social and psychological effects. The increase in rates of drug
abuse among the teenagers had resulted in some of them dropping out of school with
others being charged with crimes committed under the influence of these drugs. This

book thus supports my argument of the increased number of drug abuse cases among
Canadian teenagers. The book provides a theoretical framework by providing data on the
number of teenagers associated with drug abuse in Canada.

“child soldiers in Sudan” will make a more focused paper. Keep in mind that you are making an
argument and trying to convince your reader of a particular point of view.
Consider: What is the issue? What are different aspects/components of it? What population(s)
is/are most impacted? How do structural issues impact the issue (government, policy, the isms)?
What is the history of the issue, and how has the history contributed to its current presence in our
culture? What kind of cultural/social changes would need to take place in order to change this
issue? (Note: you do not need to address each of these questions specifically in your paper – they
are intended to get you thinking about aspects of the issue to consider.)

Brief outline of argument: Multiple research papers show that since the aliens from Mars arrived,
the size of their families has changed the social makeup of our communities. The research shows
that since the alien parents are more likely than human parents to be employed and therefore
require child care spaces. Studies that took place in day care settings illustrate that the Martian
children are better behaved than human children and are given preferential treatment, resulting in

integrated into the paper and serves to strengthen the argument. At least five academic
