Leadership Theory Analysis
SITUATION: Throughout the term, we have discussed a variety of leadership concepts, philosophies,
models, and theories. Some of these have made complete sense to you and you can see how you can
incorporate them into your life and leadership behavior; while others might not work with your leadership
style/situation. As you have been offered a buffet of leadership this term, it is ultimately up to you to
decide how to apply what you have learned throughout your leadership journey.
ASSIGNMENT: For this assignment, you need to revisit your leadership definition/philosophy you
wrote at the beginning of the term (blog post week 1). Reflect on the theories/philosophies/constructs we
have discussed this term and view your definition/philosophy in terms of what we have discussed in
lecture. Revise your definition/philosophy, as needed. With this new insight, has your
philosophy/definition changed? If so, in what ways? If your definition/philosophy has not changed,
provide rationale as to why you believe that is.
The second part of this assignment is to choose at least two leadership philosophies/models/theories we
have discussed this semester that you see being useful in your life/future career and tell how you will
utilize them as you progress along your leadership journey. Describe each leadership concept (using
vocabulary from assigned readings and class lectures) and then tell how you have (1) already incorporated
the concept in your leadership behavior OR (2) how you plan on using it in the future.
FORMAT: As this is a junior-level (300-lelvel) course, this paper must be grammatically correct as well
as all sources (you must have at least two text book and class notes will work) cited following APA
standards. Again, this paper must be 3-4 pages in length. APA format (cover sheet and reference page
[not counted in page total], 1 inch margins, 12 pt times new roman font, double spaced). If you need

For me Leadership is the act of inspire a group of people in order to achieve a common
goal. This year, I am the captain of the Texas A&M men’s tennis team and we have one of the
best team that the program ever had. My goal is to lead, influence or motivate my team to
achieve the goals that we have which are winning the conference and the NCAA national
championship.
My knowledge about leadership started when I got to college my freshman year in the spring of
2017. At this time I had a captain that took me under his arm and helped me through my first
months. He was an inspiration to me because he was leading a team with really big characters
and was never doing any mistakes. He was always the first one at practice or workout, he was
bringing 100% energy everyday and had an amazing mindset. This made me even more amazed
because he was never in the lineup for singles or doubles but was leading the team the most
perfect way. If today I am trying to do the best job possible as a leader, a big part of the skills I
built are thanks to him and it is tough to be a better captain as him.
