In this Assignment, you will explore potential evaluations for Maritza’s human service program. Using the Unit 4 Assignment Template ( attached template ) answer the following questions about Maritza’s program.

Bedford Mountain Parenting Program

The Bedford Mountain Parenting Program is run by human service professional, Maritza Martinez. This program provides weekly group and individual sessions that focus on various topics surrounding parenting such as discipline issues, forming healthy bonds with children, child development, and accessing community support and resources.

This program serves between 30 and 40 women who have been paroled from a correctional facility within the past six months. All participants must have at least one child under the age of 18. All participants must attend all sessions of the program. Most women complete the program in 6 months.

Women who have been incarcerated are separated from their children, often leading to a disrupted parental bond. Often, when they return to the family unit, they find that authority relationships have changed. They may be facing a lack of social support and may experience high stress levels that may negative impact their ability to parent effectively.
