Students will be provided with a case study of a contemporary national policy. They will be asked to respond to four topic questions/ issues at 250 words each (ie maximum of 1000 words in total).
The details of the topic questions/ issues together with the case study will be provided during the semester and discussed in class. However, in summary, students will be required to demonstrate their

understanding of the role of human services practitioners in influencing policy by: identifying the national policy’s legislative context; assessing the ethical dilemmas arising from that policy; recommending ways to

improve this policy; and explaining why their alternative recommendations would deliver better results.
