Plagiarism of any kind will result in an automatic grade of zero points. Note that simply re-wording
something written by another author IS STILL plagiarism. Extensive quotation from other sources (e.g.,
using an entire paragraph within quotation marks) will not be favorably viewed and graded accordingly.
Electronic copies of your report will be checked for plagiarism.
REQUIRED SELECTION OF TOPICS
Your presentation can be on one of the following general topics and must relate to electromagnetics in some
obvious and direct way
?
?
?
?
?
?
Sensors (wireless sensor networks, electromagnetic sensors, etc.)
New applications of wireless technology (e.g., smart highways, smart grid, RFID)
Energy and/or power (e.g., solar, wireless power transfer, transformers, etc.)
Automotive applications (e.g., radar, intelligent highway transportation systems)
Medical applications of electromagnetism
Optics
REQUIRED Selection of Report Topic and Format You must submit your topic selection and format (presentation
or video) by updating a spreadsheet posted on canvas (see announcements) before class on Monday, November
06. Starting on this date, there will be a 5-point reduction for each day beyond the submission deadline that the
project selection is delayed. Only one student will be allowed to select a given topic, and topics will be approved
on a first come first served basis (I suggest you select your topic at the first possible opportunity). Approval
status will be updated on the spreadsheet.

ELECTROMAGNETIC DENTISTRY
TESLA BULL
Abstract New techniques for drilling teeth using electromagnetic energy have recently been proposed by the
American Dental Association. This report will review the basic electromagnetic fundamentals relevant to this
new technology. The possible advantages and shortcomings in patient care will also be discussed.
INTRODUCTION
This introduction describes the material to be discussed in the report. The original work in this area was
described in [1].
ELECTROMAGNETIC DRILLS
This section describes the electromagnetic drill. As seen in Figure 1, the electromagnetic drill is comprised of
POTENTIAL BENEFITS AND PROBLEMS
This section discusses the advantages and disadvantages.
