The source for this assignment is Jane Eyre book. please use direct quotation. In Jane Eyre you see her being connected to being called a witch and that she is going to hell. At the beginning of the story, she is simply cast aside and labeled as evil, and bewitched by her family why do you think they did this to her, they made her face punishment alone and isolate her. Even later on in the story when she first meets Rochester he says that she had bewitched her horse and throughout the story, she is seen to have some sort of mystical ways about her. Why do you think Bronte decided to show Jane in this way. Was she trying to show how men in that age were scared of a woman who was independent and strong and trying to bring light to how women were treated?
