Please post 300-350 word posts and then two 50-100 word replies. For this week, we’re going to do a “character dig.” Choose one character from the following list to embody in your post: Leonato Beatrice Hero Don Pedro (the Prince) Don John Benedick Claudio Borachio Conrade Balthasar Ursula Margaret Dogberry Verges Write your discussion post in the form of a letter OR diary entry from the perspective of one of these characters. The letter/diary entry should focus on something that happens in the play and it should contain a direct quotation from the play. You have two goals in this post: 1) Create an authentic voice for this character as you understand him/her 2) Reflect on how this character would feel about the event they are capturing in their letter or diary For replies, please choose another student’s post and respond as a DIFFERENT character. So, if the original post is Beatrice, you could respond as Hero, for example. If it’s a letter, you can respond to it. If it’s a diary entry, pretend you have found the diary entry and write a response. Perhaps while Claudio interpreted events one way, you as Dogberry will interpret them another way. You are free to take on different characters in the responses than you chose for your original post. Pay attention to specific details in the text and have fun!
