Can you help me understand this Psychology question?

The material in this course is abstract, is it not?! But it does apply to the real world, and you can learn by applying it. It can even be fun!

In this one-page assignment, you will pick two principles of perception from this part of the course (unit 1). For each principle, define it and apply it to something (anything) in the real or imagined world. Length: About one page, single-spaced.

Step by step:

Pick two different principles that you like (concepts, theories, facts…). From unit 1 — all the modules up to now. There are no strict rules for what a “principle” is.

Explain one principle in your own words, writing for an educated reader NOT familiar with perception (don’t assume “we know it”!), and

Apply the principle. Then do the second principle.

You can apply your principle to anything in the real or imaged world; hurricanes, objects, scenes, problems…

Write with quality and have fun. Creativity is encouraged. There are no rubrics in this course.

To submit this assignment, you can upload it as a file (word doc or text is probably best), or you can type in your well-worked ideas.

NOTE!

This one-page activity is a warm-up for the larger Perception Applied Big Paper due near the end of the semester (one of the last modules). In the Big Paper, you will pick about 6 principles from the course, and apply them all to a general theme — a topic your like and are interested in (your choice!).
