Using your own words, how would you define “audience”? (Additional questions to get you started: Is the audience just the person or people the author intends to write to, or is the audience everyone who encounters a text? Can someone write just to write and not have an audience? If so, what would that look like?)

Using your own words, how would you define “genre”? (Additional questions to get you started: Is there an infinite number of genres? If so, is “genre” still a meaningful concept? How do genre conventions get created? Who has the power to change an existing genre or create a new one?)

Using your own words , how would you explain “rhetorical situation”? (Additional questions to get you started: Do the context, author, audience, and genre exist in a hierarchical relationship, or are these ideas like an ecosystem? How much control does the author have over the context, genre, and audience? How does the rhetorical situation help us think about the relationship between the author and audience?)

Use one example from your writing life outside of this course(please use example that is not so professional, and i am an international student, and i am a man, study economics) to reflect on how you think about audience, genre, and rhetorical situation when you write.
