Introduction
Chronic kidney disease is closely related to both hypertension and diabetes. Lack of proper management of these conditions has in fact been singled out as the greatest contributor to the prevalence of kidney disease. Other factors that cause chronic kidney disease include a family history of kidney disease, smoking; history of kidney stones as well as high-risk ethnic communities. It is clear that when any of these factors exist together, an individual is more susceptible to kidney disease. It is important to note that awareness of the predisposing factors as well as early detection and a management is generally low. Thus preventive campaign in terms of creating awareness of both how to avoid as well as seeking attention early is in order.
