PICO STATEMENT
The recently graduated nurse with one year experience in acute care setting has been given an opportunity of working as a home healthcare nurse in a certain village. In his work, he finds that most of his patients are adults with different medical conditions. In the recent past, he has been assigned the responsibility of caring for hospice patients. However, his experience in this area is low, and he has never experienced a loved one receiving hospice care at his/her end of life. While executing his duties, he noticed that there are family members and/or caregivers of patients receiving hospice care ends up withdrawing at one point. Based on these withdrawal behaviors, he remained wondering what the family caregivers are going through, so that you might better understand the situation and provide quality care (Stillwell, Et al 2010).
