Description: Each student is responsible for researching and writing a paper that is their own, original work. Your success will be based primarily upon your ability to effectively support your paper?s thesis argument and provide your own analysis. Choose one of the following topic questions:
1. The EU has enjoyed significant growth in recent years. Explain what has occurred since the end of the Cold War to cause the rapid expansion of the EU. Be sure to include some discussion on the effect that the recent economic downturn has had on the success of the EU.
Sources: Utilize ?outside? sources in aIDition to assigned course materials. Outside sources may include books, journal articles, newspaper articles, periodicals and monographs. Be certain that you properly cite your sources in accordance with the APA or Chicago style rules. As a rule of thumb at the graduate level, you should have one source per page of text and cite your sources 2-3 time per page on average. Therefore, this paper should have approximately 10 sources and 20-30 citations in total.
Note: while using internet sources is permitted, strive to access information from sites that have credibility and are accountable for their content. These include the official websites of government, academic and mainstream media organizations. These internet sources shall not constitute more than 50% of your overall sources. Popular information sites such as Wikipedia.com are not acceptable for academic work.
