Citibank, one of the most profitable banks in the United States, is a subsidiary of Citigroup. The bank was founded in 1812. Its headquarters are in New York City of the United States. Presently, Citibank is ranked third in the US in terms of total assets; leading banks are Bank of America and JP Morgan Chase in that order. Citibank operates in more than 100 countries. It has 1400 offices, half of which are in the United States. Mostly, the bank deals with standard banking transactions. However, the institution also deals with provision of insurance products, investment products and credit cards. In the entire banking financial industry, Citibanks online services division is one of the most triumphant (Al-Mudimigh, 2010).
