Carter, N. D., Khan, K. M., Petit, M. A., Heinonen, A., Waterman, C., Donaldson, M. G., … &
Prior, J. C. (2001). Results of a 10-week community-based strength and balance training
programme to reduce fall risk factors: a randomised controlled trial in 65–75-year-old
women with osteoporosis. British journal of sports medicine, 35(5), 348-351.
Carter on his British journal of sports medicine exanimate the effects of a community progressively
working towards a similar goal. However, his principal objective was to control the rate at which
women with osteoporosis would reduce the chances of the fall risk factor. He employed a statistical
method in which patients were involved in a randomised exercise for a minimal of 10 weeks in
controlled groups.
The methodology used by Carter about the need to reduce the fall risk effect in women did not
perform the intended aspect of the entire project. There was a minimal observation of the patients
in their groups, and the age limit of the individuals required to participate in the exercise was
limited living a more significant gap for proper evidence by younger individuals. Faintly the entire
activity was bound to fail at some point since the resources employed were limited and the more
Given Carter’s observation project on the women with the osteoporosis, the more critical age
would have been minimal as compared to the middle generation who are at the verge of either
similar posting characteristics or having the capacity to sustain the exposure exercises that were
required at a random rate. Additionally, with a more powerful strategy on how to monitor the
patient’s movements while on the ten-week trial and correct posting of their behavioural changes
would consistently boost the reliability and the accuracy of the study.
Manjone, J., & Mirandy, P. L. (1993). Deepwater workout as a physical education activity. Journal
of Physical Education, Recreation & Dance, 64(1), 75-78.
Manjone in his article on physical exercise, recreation, and dance, he majorly shows how the
incorporation of both the three components would help patients and the caregivers. Within the
health department in particularly the people with disabilities the presence of physical exercise and
participation in recreation activities significantly boosts self-esteem. Manjone establishes that
these recreation activities enables individuals to gain more courage in their conditions and value
themselves within what they can do best to improve.
However, not at all times that individuals are capable of being involved in the recreational activities
and if any instance they are they may not be entirely beneficial. In many cases, the individuals feel
that the recreation activities reduce their contact with others in the society or that it’s a kind of pity
unto their inability to belong in the same setting with other individuals. However, the aspect of
dancing is profoundly discouraging to these physically challenged individuals and they may feel
stigmatised of their condition and worry as to why they are subjected to such exercises while in
their status.
About Manjone’s study, through the creation of activities that would ideally suit the physically
challenged there would have been some commendable improvements in their lives. Moreover, the
events that these individuals are subjected to as a means of boosting their courage or esteem should

be limited only to them and performance in such field be monitored, an award on the improvements
on either specification be availed. This would be a better approach to ensuring that the individual
feels worthy in society.
Yancey, A. K., Jordan, A., Bradford, J., Voas, J., Eller, T. J., Buzzard, M & McCarthy, W. J.
(2003). Engaging high-risk populations in community-level fitness promotion: ROCK!
Richmond. Health promotion practice, 4(2), 180-188.
Yancey in his journal evaluates the need for physical exercise among the high-risk individuals.
The aim of the study involves ROCK! Richmond’s healthy nutrition and physical activity
promotion in his home city. The evaluation was based on the aspect of individuals with larger mass
and that originated from the African America and women whose background health history
showed linkage to the element of either one or similar common chronic disease. The selection of
individuals was based on a similar survey conducted in the previous month and was used as a basis
for vetting of the individuals where high- risk individuals were selected.
The survey pays more considerations to the characters of other people and only sidelined itself
with the large in mass. Putting into account that the individuals who may have such chronic
conditions do not necessarily have to be of larger mass the survey showed some biases in the
recruitment stages. The recruited individuals did not give the accurate data that was required, and
the fact that they were in the lineage of chronic disease did not have to be a stepping stone as to
why they were included in the study.
Given the research by Yancey, there is a remarkable improvement in the cases of health
complications brought into the health department. Individuals have embraced the physical exercise
as a routine and have ensured that there is continued practice in the day to day activities. However,
on the verge of improving what has already established a routine workout and regular checks with
milestones would correctly work for the individuals.
Farrance, C., Tsofliou, F., & Clark, C. (2016). Adherence to community-based group exercise
interventions for older people: A mixed-methods systematic review. Preventive
Medicine, 87, 155-166.
Farrance in his research on lifelong physical exercise provides a larger span of ways that
individuals would consider in ensuring they age consistently. In his study, the data was generated
from eight online databases, and their reliability and quality tested. The findings were compared
to the qualitative studies that had been earlier conducted. All data discovered underwent the
inclusion/exclusion criteria. Even though the evidence supporting the research was limited, some
conclusions were drawn from the available data.
The research on continued exercise for the aged has proofed to not have a long term adherence by
some of the individuals. The facts that an individual is continuously aging a limiting factor to the
number of excuses that individual can perform under prevailing circumstances. However, this is

evident throughout the research leading to the collection of limited data that would support this
argument.
Similarly, Farrance research was quite reliable, and its input into society was quite evident.
Through the continued embracing and personal appreciation of physical exercise, the investigation
would gain more benefit to many in the organisation. Through involving the middle age persons,
the physical exercise program would effectively work since this would be a base of motivation to
the elderly and boost their courage into continued exercise.
Daikeler, C., Hoppe, E. V., Meier-Hull, Y., & Kelley, C. E. (2010). U.S. Patent No. 7,699,753.
Washington, DC: U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
The author and the researchers of the U.S Patent and Trademark Office use the information which
they collected from their survey on creating an online gym which will register members from
different places. Under this category, there was a program which was made to building a virtual
online gym which could help members to decrease there feeling of being isolated since not all
members will work in the same working locations. It also indicated that there will be granted an
online gym for members and which the first exercise was supposed to be launched.
However, this program will be of little meaning since some people will not be willing to follow
what the program entails. I have learnt that many people would want to do some bit of exercise
and thus a project like having a portable gym will be better if programmed well. The gym is a part
of the physical activity which is essential to every human being to stay healthy and disease free.
I don’t have personal experience with such a program, but it would be a great one since it will help
so many individuals to achieve what all the bodies are required. Being engaged in any form of
physical exercise is promising and would be of significant advantage for self-healthy issues. I
would recommend this program to anyone who can make it, and it will help a lot now and in future.
Carter, N. D., Khan, K. M., McKay, H. A., Petit, M. A., Waterman, C., Heinonen, A., … & Kruse,
K. (2002). Community-based exercise program reduces risk factors for falls in 65-to 75year-old women with osteoporosis: a randomised controlled trial. Cmaj, 167(9), 997-1004.
The researchers who were researching how can exercise program improve the health of an old
person and especially for patients with osteoporosis realised that there had not been a specific
exercise for those patients which is prescribed by the doctors. The author identified that among the
patients who practised the trials of the training, more than three quarter passed it, but some
percentage did not make it.
However, after the exercise, there were some recorded improvements in the dynamic balance,
static balance and knee extension strength. Moreover, there were cases of some patients who took
part in the exercise fainting and others losing their lives during the exercise, and this led to
increased death rate and which is being fought against worldwide. From the content of the author,
it is definite that activity is essential, but a project should be put in place where the doctors will be
advising the patients on the safe exercise for their body.
According to my research, exercise has no formula through some practices would be dangerous.
It is important not to engage in activities that would cause risks to your health or life. Training
does not require too much work but just a simple operation to make your body flexible and relaxed.

Fragala-Pinkham, M. A., Haley, S. M., & Goodgold, S. (2006). Evaluation of a community-based
group fitness program for children with disabilities. Pediatric Physical Therapy, 18(2), 159167.
The author uses data from the physical therapy tests done in hospitals to bring into attention the
importance of physical fitness for people with disabilities. For instance, there is a described
program for children with disabilities where they should practice to keep fit. The program is
explanatory in terms of information to ensure that it’s safe depending on the different ages of the
people.
Those children from five to nine years and who participated in exercise twice in a week were
stronger than those who did not. The research also identified that parents of children with
disabilities reported their children to be weaker on their legs at some point. However, there are no
limits on which disabled children should exercise which type of program.
Some programs may be the risk to them and hence making them more weak as time goes on. I
have learnt that children fitness is essential and thus plans which fit for every child with a disability
should be put in place.
Daikeler, C., Hoppe, E. V., Meier-Hull, Y., & Kelley, C. E. (2011). U.S. Patent No. 7,972,247.
Washington, DC: U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
The researcher of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office uses the information which they collected
on their survey which was mainly on the agencies on creating a patent work out community fitness.
The target was primarily to bring together members so that they can exercise by using the online
gym which will be more flexible and practical than the regular old gyms.
However, other members will feel the program being expensive than having exercise in their
homes. From the source of information above, many people want to take part in the activity, and
thus there should be cheaper projects which will attract many people. Any project which will
comprise of safe exercise for individuals is recommendable even by the health sectors.
Being a participant in projects that advocate for body exercise is an achievement. Specialists and
doctors support for proper body exercises to reduce the chances of conducting diseases for a
healthy community and group. Therefore, to have a group or community which is healthy is an
advantage for everyone in general. Unhealthy conditions are expensive.

a systematic review. Journal of the American Geriatrics Society, 55(4), 603-615.
Zijlstra in his article aimed to access what kind of intervention would minimise the panic of being
part of an older people based community. Also, in his research, Zijlstra included some database
search. Moreover, to come up with the best results, he used two reviewers who extracted data from
full papers concerning characteristics of study effectively. After the research, he had some
impressive achievements which included a control group having a higher fear of falling than the
intervention group. However, Zijlstra concluded that it was possible to reduce this fear of falling
through programs of multifactorial related to land, exercises at home, and tai chi contacted in a
community.

The issue of this fear of falling in such a community was not only the concern in a workout class
community group. Additionally, this kind of fear has been highly experienced within the
communities. There is a reliable and independent relationship between activity avoidance and the
fear of falling. Therefore, it is up to the healthcare sector to identify the intervention eligible
individuals and aim to reduce the restriction of activities and fear of falling.
As an individual have never been a victim of such activities. However, I have witnessed severe
cases similar to this within the community and also through several articles. My input is that the
department of healthcare together with any other individuals or groups accountable to work
towards improvement from such threats should engage themselves in the affected communities to
help those individuals realise the correct path and recover from such jeopardies.
Roux, L., Pratt, M., Tengs, T. O., Yore, M. M., Yanagawa, T. L., Van Den Bos, J., … & Kohl III,
H. W. (2008). Cost-effectiveness of community-based physical activity interventions.
American journal of preventive medicine, 35(6), 578-588.
In his article, Roux describes the meaning of physical inactivity by indicating it as a group of those
individuals who do not receive the recommended or ideal level of physical activity. Throughout
his article, Roux explains how important physical activity is and how failure to engage in the
recommended physical activities would lead to several diseases and reduces the body immunity.
Also, he encourages physical activity towards every individual regardless of age, status, or body
strength for it keeps us relaxed.
Most chronic diseases are associated with physical inactivity. According to several studies
including this one conducted by Roux, it is evident that an increase in physical activity reduces the
chances of performing diseases especially chronic based infections. Also, apart from the reduction
of such risks it also keeps the human body to remain relaxed and free as well as increasing the rate
of brain activities. A demand body is termed as low performing in several aspects.
In several communities, the healthcare groups advocate for individuals to engage in physical
activities especially those who live with different kind of diseases to help them recover and stay
strong. According to my study, persons who work in offices and comfort places are more prone to
diseases compared to individuals who work in the field due to their lack of physical exercise.
Therefore, I call upon everyone to engage in physical activities to stay strong.
Giné-Garriga, M., Roqué-Fíguls, M., Coll-Planas, L., Sitja-Rabert, M., & Salvà, A. (2014).
Physical exercise interventions for improving performance-based measures of physical
function in community-dwelling, frail older adults: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
Archives of physical medicine and rehabilitation, 95(4), 753-769.
Giné-Garriga in her study aimed to determine interventions of exercise efficiency to improve the
performance of the physical function and those who measured frailty of community-dwelling
physical. She clarifies that those who are elderly require some physical exercise to keep their
bodies healthy and active. Also, she indicates that physical activity is a requirement not only for
the elderly but for all individuals to stay healthy and active.
Interventions of physical exercise are essential in improving the physical function in a dwelling
community. According to other articles, physical activity reduces the risk of conducting diseases
such as cancer, diabetes, and cardiovascular. Also, physical activity is said to have long-term and

immediate benefits of health. In general, having regular activities can improve his/her quality of
life at large.
As an individual, I have had several encounters with physical exercise. I am an admirer of training
in all aspects. For instance, I always play basketball every evening to keep myself fit. Also, I like
going to gym and lift some weights and other exercises to keep my body relaxed and healthy.
Apart from all this, I do activities which engage myself in physical exercises like cycling, cleaning
the compound, cultivating, and other home chores. Besides, I rarely fall sick and if I do it is never
as dangerous.
Wevers, L., Van De Port, I., Vermue, M., Mead, G., & Kwakkel, G. (2009). Effects of taskoriented circuit class training on walking competency after stroke: a systematic review.
Stroke, 40(7), 2450-2459.
Wevers was interested in understanding why there were effects of circuit class task training after
stroke competency on walking. In his article, he indicates that the patients suffering from stroke
needed some walking around. The importance of walking around according to Wevers was to keep
their bodies healthy, and that would enable them to recover from their sicknesses. By walking,
their bodies were exposed to physical activity and exercise a requirement necessary for such
patients to assist in their recovery.
After a stroke, it is advisable that an individual makes aerobatic exercises as a routine. Besides,
physical inactivity is a risk regarding stroke thus doing training minimises the chances of recurrent
stroke. Additionally, according to several studies and researches, aerobic exercise is a factor that
contributes to cognitive recovery promotion for survivors of stroke. Therefore, it is necessary for
stroke survivors to engage in physical activities for their health advantage.
Individually, I have never been a victim of a stroke. However, I have close relatives who are stroke
victims, and one of them is a survivor. Also, within the community, I am aware of several other
survivors of stroke. In my observation and after study I discovered that they are entitled to several
aerobic exercises every day as recommended by their specialists. This is because through activities
they reduce the chances of stroke to come back as well as maintain good health.
