Walking with the Wind. A memorial of the wind Homework Help

Not so many have a liking for memoirs, on the account that they are always thought to be self serving, fill of cheap publicity and egocentrism, and thus inaccurate. However, multiple attestations maintain otherwise when it comes to Walking with the Wind. Written by Lewis John and D’Orso Michael, the book was published by Mariner Books on October 18th, 1999.

The novel is about John Lewis, a modest man and an authentic American hero who comes from humble beginnings. Having left a rural cotton farm in Alabama forty years ago, Lewis entered vehemently, the civil rights movement. Despite adhering to and advocating for Gandhi’s and Kings’ ideals, Lewis suffered taunting, beatings, threats and incarcerations. Lewis was among those who spoke at the 1963 March on Washington to become the Student Nonviolent Coordination Committee. At a certain point, Lewis was publicly viciously clubbed in Selma, Alabama march, in 1965, thereby suffering a fractured skull. Nevertheless, it is because of his fighting spirit that would se him in Congress, having been taken to jail for over 40 times.

The theme of the book is that despite the setbacks that may face an individual, with determination, effort and dedication, all may be achieved. This is seen in Lewis being a mere former slave who against all oIDs, painstakingly clamors for the equality of the African Americans in the civil rights movements and rises to become a Congressman and statesman
