Titanic Soundtrack Film Soundtrack Analysis I recently saw Dirty Dancing for the first time. (I know that’s bad. FYI, I haven’t seen Gone with the Wind, either). Anyway, though I didn’t see the movie when it came out, I distinctly remember the impact of the soundtrack on American pop culture in 1987 when all of my friends were singing the songs, the videos were on MTV and VH1 constantly, and Patrick Swayze graced the covers of all teen magazines everywhere.As I watched the movie, I finally understood the significance of that soundtrack from the resurrection of the earliest Rock’ n Roll tracks, to the poignancy of the new music penned specifically for the movie’s score. I used to think it was a great soundtrack because I heard it in 7th grade and had nothing with which to compare it. Now that I have seen the film, I know it was great because of the perfect marriage between the music and the movie from the sentiment of the movie and evolution of characters, to the propulsion of the plot.LENGTH: 1 paragraph
