Technologies Allowing Research on Private Data
Three of the technologies that allow someone to do research on private data of citizens are RFID, cloud computing and biometrics. RFID is an acronym for radio frequency identification technology that is commonly used in debit or credit cards. It follows then that most of the cards (credit and debit) that customers use for their purchases use this technology. The advantage of this technology is that a customer avoids swiping the card at point of sale. This is because information or data stored within the data is retrieved at the sale terminals without contact. However, the downside of this technology is that people can access the private data contained in the card even when in pockets. As such, con artists can clone your information in a card to defraud your money.
