The renaissance is the age of discovery. The period of European History immediately after the mediaeval that is the miIDle ages was in between the 5th and the 15th centuries. This was in between the 14th and the 17th centuries. Renaissance ushered in the modern era. Renaissance art is the art which includes paintings, sculptures and decorative of that period of European History. It is also viewed as rebirth of ancient traditions. It spread through Europe affecting both artists and their patrons with the development of new techniques and new artistic sensibilities. It therefore marks the transition of Europe from the medieval period to the early modern age.
