The Assignment:

Pick something new and different. It could be eating a new type of food (no this does not mean the new taco shop on the corner). Have you ever had Indian, Ethiopian or Vietnamese food? You might try attending a religious service for a religion other than your own. Attend a concert, the opera or a play at one of the county’s performing arts centers. We have a great theatre on campus and student tickets are quite inexpensive. Ever been surfing, snorkeling or kayaking? How about hiking to the top of Cowles Mountain? Be creative. There are many free activities you can try. Balboa Park has many free activities as well. Visit their website, many museums are free on Tuesdays.

After your new “adventure” write me a maximum one page paper telling me about your experience. Include:

1. Why you chose the activity?
2. Exactly what you did.
3. Did you enjoy yourself?
