Different ethnic and cultural groups have their perception on low birth weight infants and preterm births. This mostly is evident on the ethical considerations when a there is a premature baby which has been born. According to Davis & Diane, (2007) it is very difficult to predict on the babies who will die or survive but also has severe disabilities. Therefore, families are at a dilemma most of the time on the level of intervention which is justifiable or necessary. The most challenging decision is on whether the premature baby should be resuscitate and admit her / him at the neonatal care or provide palliative care instead of intensive care.
