The consequences of drug abuse are very devastating to individuals and to society as a whole. This often causes one to think critically in regards to drug laws and policies. According to Wade & Tavris (2011), some legalized drugs, such as coffee, alcohol, and tobacco, have just as many harmful side effects as those that have been deemed illegal.  Last year, the states of Colorado and Washington voted to legalize marijuana for recreational purposes. In your opinion, which drugs should be legal, illegal, and which should be decriminalized (that is, not made legal, but not used as a reason for arresting and jailing their users)?
