The basis of the turnaround Nintendo achieved in 2009
Nintendo which is apparently a leading video games developer in the world was experiencing competition from the technologically endowed Sony Play Station and Microsoft Xbox. This affected its profits in the mid 1990s until 2008. In 2009 Nintendo developed a Wii console which targeted the masses and not the technological specifications that its competitors were well endowed with. In so doing its focus shifted to games that had a lot of fun when playing; this combined with the use of low powered processors led to price reductions making it sell at a relatively lower price compared to its competitors. Eventually the sales were high resulting in high revenues at 73% and high profits a 63%.
