Tech that will change your life in 2019 You would have to choose a relevant IT article and write a review about it. The article on which the review is based cannot be more than 3 months old. (Important). The review should relate to a topic in our course. The topics you can choose from are Data and knowledge management, Telecommunications and Networking, Business Analytics, Information Security, Business and E-Commerce, Information Systems with the Organization, Customer Relationship Management, Supply and chain Management, Acquiring Information Systems and Applications. No product or app reviews please. Check the example I attached for the length of the paper (around 310 words not much more). Please make sure you check that out, so that you can see how the structure should look like too. As you can see on the example, there is an intro, body of the review and finally talk about how the article relates to Management Information Systems concept. Finally, please make sure the citation is in APA format and respects every APA style rules, it is extremely important. The example doesn’t seem to respect that (sorry for that) but you would have to. GeoSpark Analytics: A New Paradigm in Threat Assessment
Technology has been advancing at an incredible speed for the last couple of decades, and
it shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Humans have gained the ability to predict
certain events to come in the future with numerical data and analysis. One example of this
phenomenon is, of course, weather forecasting. GeoSpark Analytics is a relatively young
company and they provide their clients a different kind of forecast: threat assessment.
GeoSpark Analytics’ team uses machine learning to develop a risk management platform,
Hyperion. Hyperion analyzes millions of data points from around the globe in order to assess
activities that could pose a threat to security. The AI collects data from news articles, social
media outlets, satellite images, and other media sources. With this data, Hyperion is able to
graph and predict potential threats that can arise in an area, such as riots, criminal activity, or
environmental destruction. As groundbreaking as this innovation is, it is only the beginning.
Understanding and implementing machine learning is a relatively new concept and it is only
natural that our knowledge of the subject will grow with time. The implications of this are
astounding, and only time will tell what we will do with this information.
This article is very relevant to Management Information Systems. An important part of
Information Systems is to make sense of data, and machine learning does just that. With
algorithms and statistical models, AI are able to take raw data and turn it into useful information.
The knowledge it provides only becomes more advanced the more it learns through the data
inputs. The article displays this effectively: Hyperion gets raw data from news and media outlets,
turns that data into information of risk assessment, and then uses that data to determine specific
areas that are susceptible to certain kinds of threats. GeoSpark Analytics’ use of machine
learning is very interesting, to say the least.
