1. Identify another social problem that is related to your primary topic. Explain why you think it is related. What led you to make this connection? (1-2 paragraphs) 5 pts<br />

2. How are academics researching these connections? Choose an academic journal article published within the last 5 years. Briefly explain the authors purpose. Explain the main argument or the research question. What population is the focus (look for specifics about things like nation, race, ethnic group, gender, age, region, urban/rural, religion, sexual orientation, etc.) (1-2 paragraphs) 5 pts<br />

3. What type of work is it? (For example, Theoretical, critique, a study theyve conducted, literature review of previous research, policy proposal) Why do you think so? After considering the various things youve read and your observations/experiences, do you think your main topic is a cause of the other problem, a symptom of the other problem, are they both symptoms of something else, or not really as related as you originally thought?
