Romanticism gained strength during as a reaction to the Industrial Revolution. Essentially, Romanticism was nothing but a revolt that was directed against the social and political norms that dominated the aristocratic age of enlightenment. It was also a reaction that was directed against the scientific rationalization of nature that was highly used by then. It was through the movement of the romanticism that it proved to be an authoritative source of aesthetic life and it emphasized more on horror and terror and trepidation. Romanticism promoted folk art into a character that was more desirable and one that argued for natural epistemology in regard to the human activities.
