Three approved topics for student research projects in this course are: Women’s Beauty and Health; Women’s activism; and Women and Higher Education.

Subtopics of Women’s beauty and Health include: Social Prescription about “beauty or healthy women’s bodies; and how attitudes about race, age, fashion or sexuality influences the body.

Subtopics of Women’s activism range from: protests or campaigns on campus by women students, to conversations around the dinner table.

Subtopics of Women and Higher Education include: Women’s admission into (non-) traditional disciplines, or new creative professions.

This Course’s approved for student research projects will be generated collectively in class. Students will then develop their own Research Question, and explain why they have chosen this question. Note that a research question requiring interviewees to be asked questions intruding on traumatic life experiences will not get Ethic Approval.

The Research question Report is a One to Two page double-spaced typed summary of the research question. Students will clearly describe their research question, and explain its importance in terms of their values, attitudes and/ or experiences as an individual and a member of society.
