Description
Read The Phoenix Project (through chapter 20). You continue to assist Bill Palmer with project management at Parts Unlimited. There have been a number of challenges during the past two weeks. You have been asked to write a report that includes a recommendation and a scope document for the most important project based on your first month at Parts Unlimited. Use your book and the articles that we have read to help support your recommendations. What are the potential projects you have identified at Parts Unlimited? What project is the most important or critical for Parts Unlimited to undertake and why? What criteria or logic did you use in prioritizing and selecting your recommended project Who are the stakeholders (both internal and external) that should be included in your recommended project? Project Scope Template – Be sure to complete each section of the template and remember that your project scope document should include what is in scope and any information that will determine what is out of scope. Here are some tips for success in using the template by section: Project Title: Should be a short but clear name for your project Date: Should be submission date Prepared by: Your Name Project Justification: This is 2 paragraphs that clearly describe the need for your project. If there are specific reasons that this project would help improve the success of Parts Unlimited make sure that you spell that out. This is your why for the project – think of this like your sales pitch to senior leadership on the reasons the project is needed. Product/Project Characteristics and Requirements: This section allows you to describe in detail what are the requirements and characteristics of your project. It is useful to include this sentence followed by a list of the detailed requirements and characteristics: …”I recommend implementing ______ that will address the [specific problem your project addresses]. This ____month/year project will begin on ____________ and end on __________. This project requires a budget of $_____________ and a team of XX to be successful.” Summary of Project Deliverables – This section includes two details: Project Management related deliverables should be listed to include those items related to PM that you plan to use as part of this project. Project/Product Related deliverables – This section should list all of the items delivered as part of this project. Project Success Criteria: Think about quantifiable measures of success. How will Parts Unlimited be different, better, improved after your project in quantifiable but realistic ways? These success criteria should paint a clear picture of the future state at Parts Unlimited following your project or any criteria of success for your project.
