I was born, brought up and educated in Pittsburgh and yinzer slang has always seemed like another national language to me. I am very adventurous and a person who is always eager to learn and accept challenges. On top of that I am single but I really admire those who are in relationships. I am a base ball fanatic but also love soccer not pretty much playing but watching. I like spending my leisure time walking in parks since it makes me feel very relaxed most especially when I have something weighing on my mind. I have always admired great speakers like Martin Luther King and has always wished that I would be able to use language in such a way to influence and move people.

Among the many factors like social position, occupation and education that may influence an individual’s speech, one’s age mates or peers and the geographical region in which one is brought up in fall as the most powerful factors that supersedes all the rest.  In order for people to feel that they belong to or for them to find a group of people that they can identify with, they have to conform to some common aspects and values, speech or language being one of them. Language therefore becomes one of the major means through which groups seek in order to establish their entity. To give a very good example, teen age especially l in high school life becomes one of the chief platforms where the above is practiced more consciously. Slang becomes an important supplement for individual mother tongues and native languages with the major death blow being extended to English. With this in mind one might be tempted to think that there is nothing else that is satisfactory than speaking in today’s slang since it forms a common feature even in adult life (Wardhaugh pp. 77).
