For the final paper, students will apply what they have learned from the course and prepare an analysis paper on a criminal case, specifically, you must identify and address the following:
(1) Identify a specific crime case
– Provide an overview of the criminal case
– What type of crime is it? How and why? (i.e., sex crime, violent crime, economic crime, tech crime, etc.)

(2) Apply two theories that would explain the offender and the criminal behavior
– Choose 2 theories discussed in class that would explain the offender’s criminal behavior. Be specific and detailed using concrete information from the criminal case regarding the crime, offender, and all

relevant details to offer possible theories to explain the behavior.

(3) Apply two criminal typologies to unpack the crime
– Typology 1 must address a psychology typology to understand the offender and offender’s criminal behavior.
– Typology 2 must address how the criminal justice system (law enforcement, courts, corrections, and victim services) is used to understand the criminal case.
