Question: Is the patriarchy legitimate? Is there anything unjust about the subordination of women to men? Compare and contrast the relative “feminism” in TWO of the following: Sophocles’ Antigone, Aristophanes’ Lysistrata, Plato’s Republic. Who presents the more compelling examination of male domination, and why?
For this paper, you only need to rely on texts that we have read for this class. You should make a clear and coherent argument based on an analysis of these texts. Outside sources are neither required nor encouraged, although if you use an idea that you have gleaned from another source, you must cite it.
The paper should present a clear thesis, followed by a well-organized and well-supported argument. Cite the texts wherever necessary to support your claims.
