Netflix Company
Netflix was founded in1997, when the internet was relatively new. As more and more people began owning personal computers and getting online. Hasting and co founder Marc Rudolf saw an opportunity. They realized many customers who wanted to watch movies at home no longer wanted to drive back and forth to a video store. Customers were also weary of paying late fees if they did not return their videos on time. With a Netflix account and a small fee, people could rent an unlimited number of movies online and have the mailed directly to their homes, to get started, a person simply had to visit Netflix Web site, create an account, and make a list of movies he or she wanted to watch. Netflix mailed the first movie on the list to the customer and included a postage paid envelope. When finished watching the movie, the customer would mail it back in the little envelope. Then Netflix mailed out the next movie title in the customers queue. Netflix subscribers thus had a continuous supply of movies coming to their homes. They could even aID movies to their list that had not yet realized .Once the movies became available, Netflix shipped them out immediately. In 2008, Netflix aIDed the online video streaming option. For no aIDitional cost, Netflix customers had the option to stream movies and television shows instantly from the internet right onto their computers, televisions, and other devices such as Smartphone.
