Social Problems in the News: Gender and Housework

For your initial post, find a news article published within the last year that discusses gender and housework in the U.S. Consider looking at the following sources listed below. You can access these sources from the Texas Wesleyan Library. If you need support accessing these sources, refer to How to Access Journals through the Library document. In your initial post, explain why you think that women do more housework than men. What theoretical perspective resonates with you most about gender inequality? Summarize the article you found. Does it align with your thoughts on gender and housework? What research did the article use to support their claim? In your response post, select peers whose articles interest you. Remember to respond to peers who haven’t been responded to first. Do you agree with your peer about why women do more housework than men? Why or why not? What did you learn, find interesting, or find surprising to you about your peer’s article? Why? Based on the research in the article, suggest another way that the researcher could have investigated differences in household duties.
