there were no vaccination and no control by public health authorities. Like a disease, it brings

comparison between pornography and a disease a weak analogy fallacy?] Like a disease, it does
insidious harm, not only to the moral fibres of the person exposed to pornography, but to his
character, for he can never completely recover. [Not clear on the difference between “moral
fibres” and “character.” The author separated these two ideas. Hmm?] Those who have fallen
victim to the infection of pornography need our help, as do people who have come down with
pneumonia or diphtheria; and those who are deliberately spreading pornography [But, disease
is not normally spread deliberately.] for profit need to be quarantined [Definition = a state,
period, or place of isolation in which people or animals that have arrived from elsewhere or
been exposed to infectious or contagious disease are placed. Imposed isolation on (a person,
animal, or place); put in quarantine.] at once. The conclusion is obvious and unassailable:
pornography must be eliminated.
