Outline
?
Make your 1st or 2nd slide an outline of your
presentation
?
?
Ex: previous slide
Follow the order of your outline for the rest of
the presentation
Only place main points on the outline slide
Ex: Use the titles of each slide as main points
Slide Structure Good
?
?
?
?
Use 1-2 slides per minute of your presentation
Write in point form, not complete sentences
Include 4-5 points per slide
Avoid wordiness: use key words and phrases
only
Slide Structure Good
?
Show one point at a time:
Will help audience concentrate on what you are
saying
Will prevent audience from reading ahead
Will help you keep your presentation focused
Slide Structure – Bad
?
Do not use distracting animation
?
Do not go overboard with the animation
?
Be consistent with the animation that you use
Fonts – Good
?
?
Use at least an 18-point font
Use different size fonts for main points and
secondary points
?
this font is 24-point, the main point font is 28-point,
and the title font is 36-point
Use a standard font like Times New Roman or
Arial
Fonts – Bad
?
If you use a small font, your audience wont be able to read what you have written
?
CAPITALIZE ONLY WHEN NECESSARY. IT
IS DIFFICULT TO READ
?
Dont use a complicated font
Colour – Good
?
Use a colour of font that contrasts sharply with
the background
?
Use colour to reinforce the logic of your
structure
?
Ex: blue font on white background
Ex: light blue title and dark blue text
Use colour to emphasize a point
But only use this occasionally
Colour – Bad
?
?
?
Using a font colour that does not contrast with
the background colour is hard to read
Using colour for decoration is distracting and
annoying.
Using a different colour for each point is
unnecessary
?
Using a different colour for secondary points is also
unnecessary
Trying to be creative can also be bad
Background – Good
?
Use backgrounds such as this one that are
attractive but simple
?
Use backgrounds which are light
?
Use the same background consistently
throughout your presentation
Background Bad
?
?
Avoid backgrounds that are distracting or
difficult to read from
Always be consistent with the background that
you use
Graphs – Good
?
Use graphs rather than just charts and words
?
Data in graphs is easier to comprehend & retain
than is raw data
Trends are easier to visualize in graph form
Always title your graphs

ABSTRACT
Whenever a global crisis happens, there is often a strain in the economy of the globe as a whole.
COVID-19 has not been an exception. There has been a lot of panics as well as strain in the
resources in the worlds economy. The research herein aims at finding out the economic impacts
of COVID-19 on the economy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. For the literature review, the
researcher discusses several theories and literature related to the current study. The theories
discussed include the Fisher effect, Keynesian, Austrian, Supply-side, classical economics, and
Monetarist theories. The fisher effect proposes a correlation that exists between interest rates
and the rate of inflation in which the real interest rates equals nominal rates of interest adjusted
with the rates of inflation. The Monetary theory argues that economic growth relies on the
changes in the money supply, which, in the long term, affects the business cycle. Presented by
the Austrian school of thought, the Austrian theory provides a bigger perception of the
economic sector as the core for future economics. The classical economics theory, on the other
hand, argues that issues concerning the market can be solved within the market without
government inclusion rather than what a market does. The supply-side theory is built on the
concept that increasing goods supply leads to the growth of an economy
The researcher used key aspects in an economy as the independent variables for the study. Such
aspects include stock market exchange and value of shares, production rate, exports and
imports, the rate of employment, interest rates, and production rates for SMEs. The economy
was used as a dependent variable. The research was also guided by the hypothesis, COVID19 has affected the economy of KSA. The researcher used a descriptive research design to
study the Effect of the Corona Virus on the Saudi Arabian Economy. The research design was
adopted with the rationale that it is reliable in measuring both qualitative and quantitative data
while investigating for more than two variables. The research utilized both secondary and
primary sources of data. Surveys and interviews were used in the collection of primary data.
Data collected was then sorted and analyzed using the SPSS software from which frequencies
and regression analysis were generated.
The results obtained indicated that all the six independent variables had been affected by
COVID-19 following the measures put in place to combat the pandemic as well the panic
caused globally. It, therefore, follows that economy as a dependent variable has been as well
affected by the pandemic.

CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION
1.1 Background
The economy is a critical issue that indicates whether a nation or region is performing well or
not. It, therefore, refers to the state of a given geographical area or a nation in the production
and consumption commodities and the money supply. Thus, the Saudi (KSA) economy is much
affected by the COVID-19 pandemic that has tremendously impacted the economy. Notably,
the economy depends on factors such as the level of production, unemployment rates, and the
number of working hours, among others.
There are several claims that COVID-19 has a more considerable influence on the economy
hence the need to establish its effects on the rate of unemployment, working hours due to the
number of sick people affected by the disease. Additionally, it has forced the closure of some
industries that caused many employees to take mandatory leave. The covid-19 has also had,
however, significantly influenced the global supply chains since most of the countries have
closed their international travels hence depriving the economy. Therefore there is a greater need
to search for a solution to the problem brought about by the pandemic on economic growth.
1.1.1 Global Perspective
The United States is one of the countries whose economy has been dramatically affected by the
COVID-19 pandemic. As novel coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to rip the American biggest
cities, its effects are felt all over, and the economy of the United States is continuously freezing.
Lockdowns, quarantines, and the stay at home orders that have been imposed by the government
to fight the pandemic have affected various industries within the United States. For the case,
the consumption industry, which accounts for close to 70% of the US gross domestic product
(GDP), that is through consumer spending demand is created, thus leading to job growth in
different occupations within the economy. Consumption has…
