Competency assessment gap report
Overview: The healthcare management and leadership competency assessment is
based upon two data sources: previous course material and information; and the
personal profile document completed at the time of admission into the masters
program. A comparison is made between both data sources and the American
College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) core leadership competencies. This
collective comparison becomes the competency assessment report.
Part I. Previous course material and information
Instructions: Review the content and information studied and received in each of
the HAD/HED/HSV courses below. Identify any areas of study that pertain to each of
the specific domains of the ACHE core leadership competencies. Describe the level
of competency proficiency for each of the five domains in the ACHE model.
Rate the level of perceived proficiency by circling the most accurate value using this
scale:
1 = no proficiency
2 = inadequate level of proficiency
3 = adequate level of proficiency
4 = above average level of proficiency
5 – = high level of proficiency
Record any notes below the rating scale that further explain the selected rating and
the rationale for making this determination.

I am Saud, an international student from Saudi Arabia. I have a bachelor’s degree in Health
Administration, and I worked in the Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia. I have been a Health
Management Specialist since 2010. I have nominated for a master’s degree in America, and now this is
my last semester at (…………….) University.
When I get a Master of Health Administration from (…………..) University, I will return to work with
the Ministry of Health and for two years and then I have the right to complete my doctoral degree.
My expectations from this course to gain experience in Integrated Capstone and to learn how that
will help me in my field.
