The second assignment is about benchmarking. Every team is required to select a topic from the following list and look for the best practices related to the topic you choose: * Supply chain (logistics): raw material, inventory, transportation * Marketing: research, brand name, quality, packaging, customers service, distribution and location, salesforce, promotion, price … * Operation/ production: technology, quality control, maintenance, expansion …. * Human resources: number and quality of employees, selection, training, motivation, evaluation, work environment .. * Finance/accounting: liquidity, activity, leverage, profitability, and growth. Use financial ratios. * Information technology: information system for productivity and better decisions, digitalization (artificial intelligent, big data analytics), automation, knowledge management … Select only one item (best practices for managing raw material, or customers’ service, or employees’ training etc..). Do not explain the best practices, just mention them as points (mention the webpage reference for maintaining of ethics of not violating intellectual property). The assignment must be sent to my e-mail before 1:00am Thursday October 8th. It should be submitted on Microsoft Word and not to exceed one page. The presentation will be on Thursday class (October 8th) for all. Team work, communication skill. and life-long learning are outcome of doing assignments.
