However, in recent years scientists have found that many non-coding sequences can actually transcribed into RNA, Gas5 is one of them.
GAS5 is a long period of non-coding RNA genes between (lincRNA), it comes from the non-coding junk DNA or dark matter of the genome , but it is by no means an afterthought. GAS5 as a brake on the steroid hormone receptors, play a key role in many diseases, such as hormone-sensitive prostate cancer and breast cancer.
Most people are familiar with the different genes, GAS5 does not encode proteins, but transcription become RNA. When the cells were subjected to stress, this RNA would accumulate occupied steroid hormone receptors, preventing them from binding to DNA and switch genes.
