Introduction
Attention Material: Are you getting frustrated of always being overburdened by the pressure to look good, be physically fit or healthy? Is it really necessary to engage in sports or it’s just a time waster?
Thesis: I would like to demonstrate why it is important to participate competitively in sports and exercises. It is critical to start engaging in sports and exercises both for the health and physical benefits that comes with such activity.
Motivation: Every person knows the benefits of engaging in sports and exercises. You will all agree that there are huge benefits of taking part. However, I know that not all of us are taking part in athletics. I would like to persuade you to go out and join an athletic club and start taking part in athletics.
Transition: (I would appreciate sharing my concerns about continued inactivity).
Body
Problem:
1.    Benefits of exercising
•    Athletics and sports is the most engaging and interesting form of exercising. It’s potential to influence exercising and keeping fit is not being utilized.
•    Lack of physical fitness is very harmful to people’s health.
•    Obesity has become a pandemic in the country
•    Cardiovascular disease is a leading cause of disease and is caused by lack of physical fitness
•    Physical fitness reduces the incidents of heart diseases (Walid & John, p.788)

(Internal Summary)/ Transition: Based on numerous studies, a person who exercises will live longer than those who do not exercise.
(Most of you might wonder what my reasons for talking about athletics to college student are)
2.    College students are unaware of their health and fitness conditions
•    Most students think they are healthy and fit despite the fact that they do not exercise
•    Statistics show that high school student is healthier than a college student
•    College is the threshold of decline and the level of activity drops (Explain) (Finlay, p.250)
3.    The Changes in participation in sports and exercises is related to the changes in students lifestyles (explain)
•    Students are engaged in more curricula related activities at college (explain)
•    Most of you gave up the sports you used to engage as soon as you entered college
•    In college, we are motivated less by sports (Babcock & Mindy, p.469)
(Internal Summary): (My point is, that motivation to keep healthy and physically fit is inherent in us and the motivation must come from within us. However, from statistics, this is not happening)
Transition: (The need to engage in sports to provide motivation for exercising cannot be overstated now that we are in a stage in our lives that will define our future)
4.    Our inactivity now could make us inactive all our future lives
By choosing to remain inactive today, we are exposing ourselves to be inactive forever.

Solutions: Participating in sports will motivate us to keep fit and healthy
We do not need to join sports competitively (Explain)
There are numerous advantages of doing this (Explain)

Conclusion
Attention material: We do not want to die young and even more so we need to live healthy and engaging lives
Under view: We should therefore, engage in at least one sporting activity to find motivation to keep physically fit and healthy.
