GBS 151 Mesa Community College Peter Welch Unethical Business Conduct Paper Select a recent “ethical occurrence” in government (see note below) and prepare a paper identifying the facts of the case, why you feel the occurrence is ethically questionable, and how it might have been avoided. Can the culpable parties be taught ethics? Review the rubric associated with this assignment for more detail and specific grading criteria.

Note: An ethical occurrence in government need not be headline news. Every day ethical choices are made at every level of government. Local, State and Federal government officials all make ethical choices in the day to day operation of their respective duties. Ethical choices need not be unethical, many politicians and public servants make admirable choices that display honesty, integrity, and good moral values. Recognizing those that make good ethical choices is just as important as identifying bad ethics. Feel free to go either way on this assignment.

Each ethics assignment should summarize the concepts learned and discussed in our class focusing on the current chapter(s). See the syllabus for my late assignment policy.

Ethics assignments should be submitted using the appropriate APA or MLA formatting standards
Do not use a cover sheet!
Reports should contain 350 to 500 words
Put your name, assignment title and date in the header of the document.
Put the course number, section and page number in the footer of the document
Your paper should be double spaced
Use Arial or Times New Roman font, Size -12 point
One-inch margins.
Use Section Headings to separate major portions of your paper when appropriate.
It is not necessary to cite the text, use citations only if you use additional sources
