Florida National University Qualitative Research Method Discussion Response I will conduct a Qualitative analysis. I prefer this type of research because Qualitative research is an inquiry process of understanding, based on distinct methodological traditions of inquiry that explore a social or human problem. The researcher builds a complex, holistic picture, analyzes words, reports detailed views of informants, and conducts the study in a natural setting. Also, Qualitative methods reflect an even greater variety of studies. The traditional qualitative methods include ethnography, phenomenology, grounded theory, case studies, and historical research. Many are based on long-established traditions that should be respected when using them. Others are more contemporary, borrowing the most useful strategies from the more traditional approaches. Some of the advantages of inferential analysis are that uses participants as their own controls, are that fewer participants are needed and the treatment groups do not differ (Munro, 2005). However, these advantages are often outweighed by the following disadvantages: High attrition rate: A large number of participants are lost from the study between the two treatment conditions, order effect because participants may not be as enthusiastic about trying the second or third treatment option, reducing adherence, and carryover effect in which participants may continue to experience or benefit from the effects of the first treatment (O’Rourke et al., 2005).References:Ruth M.
