Part 1: Reasonable Accommodation
The Civil Act Rights of 1964 VII protects employees freedom through prohibition of discrimination against a person on basis of race, religion or sex. Specified in chapter VII of the law is a requirement of employers to grant reasonable accommodation of employees religious practices such as Sabbath observation, if they do not effect to undue hardships in working conditions. This led to creation of Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) for implementation of the law (Shapiro, 1993). In light to this act this paper will discuss in depth religious aspect as well as religions that can be reasonably accommodated in the work place.
