This is for my theology class and we are discussing social issues (mine being false incarceration) This paper can be seen as an informative paper but it is not a strict guide line as long as you discuss the issue for 1300 words it will do fine Here is my thesis I prefer you use or build on it but you may make your own False incarceration is defined as the conviction of a person who is accused of a crime in which, in the result of subsequent investigation, proves erroneous. These persons who are in fact innocent, will be wrongly convicted by a jury or a court of law. False convictions are fueled by false witnesses, incompetence of defense lawyers and inadequate evidence among others. However, with the emergence of forensic DNA in collection of evidence, the rate of false incarceration has dropped tremendously. This has been an issue since the beginning of our justice system in the United States. here are some instructions A well-constructed thesis: shows a fair/unbiased analysis of the issue Conclusion connects to the thesis Analysis Paper, not persuasive – showing all sides of the issue Academic and Professional Tone (unbiased perspective) Should not include unsupported/un-researched opinions, personal perspectives or stances Should be concise, no grammar or spelling errors Sound reasoning, natural flow, and well researched ideas Paper should address both the breadth and the depth of the issue, including the Justice/Charity distinction in your analysis Justice: underlying cause, long term solutions Charity: immediate needs, short term help Include a full analysis of all aspects of the Methodology See: What is the scope of your particular social justice issue? What is happening? What are some known causes? What have others tried to do about it? This should include a fair and accurate analysis of the scope of the issue. Judge: What is the significance of this issue? What is at stake? Why is this important? What happens if nothing is done? How important is this? Why should we care? Act: Offer some well-reasoned and thoughtful potential solutions. What should people do about it? Who needs to act?
