The purpose of this paper is to allow you to critically reflect on your persuasive speech.
Assignment
Compose an essay in which you evaluate your overall speaking performance from the
persuasive presentation. Your analysis should be thoughtful and reflective of your actual
performance. Your essay should be structured as follows:
(1) Introduction
(2) Reflect on your persuasive speech thesis statement. Identify and evaluate 2 pieces of
evidence used to support your thesis. For each, a) describe the evidence and b)
evaluate how effective it was / was not in supporting your thesis statement.
(3) Identify two delivery/ aesthetic choices that were made. For each, a) first describe the
behavior/choice and b) reflect on the effectiveness of that choice. Consider this list of
delivery choices: eye contact, gestures, facial expressions, vocal projection, vocal
rate, vocalized fillers/pauses.
